This is a proactive approach that includes screening, evaluation and treatment plans based on your age and risk factors. There are four parts to this well woman exam: physical exam, breast exam, pelvic exam, and possibly a pap smear. If you are 40 years old and beyond, we will discuss your plan for a mammogram, especially if you have certain risk factors. Also, if you are having menopause symptoms, we may discuss ways to manage your symptoms.

The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located at the front of your neck under your skin. It's a part of your endocrine system and controls many of your body's important functions by producing certain hormones.

When this gland does not function properly, such as producing too much or too little of the thyroid hormones, you could experience unwanted symptoms.
